CASA Volunteers in CT – Their Role in the Court System

Program Description

We will cover the content and development of the CASA statute, discuss the role of CASA volunteers in the court system, and review how they are screened, trained and supervised. We will also discuss the role of a CASA vs. the typical role of a GAL from a legal and practical standpoint, and provide perspectives from attorneys and judges in CT and elsewhere about how CASAs can help the system better serve children under protective supervision and in foster care.
