The Latest Update from the Release-Based Working Group Subcommittees

Program Description:

Join us for the first meeting of the Bar Association year for an informational meeting and hear from the attorney co-chairs of the five Released-Based working group topical subcommittees. These subcommittee topics include:  Discovery of Historical Releases, Reporting Newly-Discovered Historical Releases, Characterization of a Discovered Release, Immediate Removal Actions and Tiers.  We will also hear from members of the Ad Hoc Transition Group who are focused identifying transition issues related to the implementation of the new program.  As DEEP heads toward the drafting phase of the release-based regulations, we are asking for attorney input for the legal implications of the initial white paper submissions.  These can be found at: https://portal.ct.gov/DEEP/Remediation--Site-Clean-Up/Comprehensive-Evaluation-and-Transformation/Release-Based-Cleanup-Program-Stakeholder-Engagement.  Click here to view The Transition Group Recommendations.

This is an informational meeting and opportunity to ask questions and start to identify potential concerns and issues for our section’s consideration.  We will have another meeting in October to further discuss the concerns and issues.
