David Williams, Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers

Program Description

This presentation will comprise an overview of substance abuse in the legal community as well as signs of impairment and the obstacles facing attorneys considering help. Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers' (LCL) service will be highlighted with an emphasis on the free and totally confidential nature of LCL.

Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers is Connecticut's lawyer assistance program providing crisis intervention and referral services to the Connecticut legal community. They are lawyer-funded, lawyers-supported and committed to helping members of the Connecticut legal community overcome personal, mental and addiction problems.

About the Speaker

david williams 

Attorney David Williams is from Berlin, CT.  He received his JD degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law and his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Southern Connecticut State University.  When not at a meeting or helping a colleague, Williams can be found biking from his home in West Hartford to Niantic or other destinations.

Williams has been an active volunteer and participant in the Conn. lawyers’ assistance program for a decade, always offering support, patience, understanding and time to colleagues or to any member of the Connecticut. legal community who reached out to LCL for help or information.

As the executive director of LCL-CT, Attorney Williams brings a wealth of professional and personal experience to the position. He worked in the Conn. Judicial Branch for many years and also spent valuable time in the private practice of law. A “Friend of Bill W.”, he has been engaged in the recovery community for over three decades.  His private law practice focused on individuals and families in crisis.
