About the Program
This interactive and engaging three-hour workshop gives participants a framework for understanding inequity and how our own biases show up in the social and built environment. Participants will explore nine categories of social identity and understand how these categories shape their own and other’s experiences. Join us for a conversation on how we can work to make our practices more inclusive.
You Will Learn
• Develop a shared vocabulary for speaking about identity
• Understand the role of social power in maintaining inequity in our society
• Be able to recognize your own social location and how it impacts your daily life
Who Should Attend
This workshop is suitable for anyone who is interested in furthering their understanding of identity and how we can use this knowledge to improve our organizations and personal interactions. It is suitable for people who are new to this work or for people who are already invested in working for equity.
