Professor Gerry Beyer, Professor of Law at Texas Tech University is an ACTEC Fellow and nationally recognized expert in estate planning. He has authored 25 books, 40 law review articles, 35 other significant works and over 400 CLE articles. He served as the Reporter for the Uniform Electronic Estate Planning Documents Act and was primarily responsible for researching and drafting the act. Suzanne Brown Walsh, Esq., is an ACTEC Fellow and chairs the Trust and Estates department at Murtha Cullina LLP. She is one of Connecticut’s Uniform Law Commissioners and a member of the Joint Editorial Board for Uniform Trust and Estate Acts. She chairs the Committee on Electronic Wills and has previously chaired the Committee on the Uniform Electronic Estate Planning Documents Act and the Connecticut Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act. She has written and spoken on the topic of remote notarization and electronic estate planning documents at length.
Program Description
Uniform Law Commissioner Suzy Brown and Professor Gerry Beyer will speak on the topics of Remote Execution of Estate Planning Documents (remote online notarization and other alternatives) and the Uniform Electronic Estate Planning Documents Act. The program is intended to provide an introduction to the law and logistics underlying each topic.
