12:00 PM to 1:00 PM (Eastern Daylight Time)
Webinar (CLE Pass Eligible)
Presented by the CT Bar Institute
About the Program
Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act applies to professional offices, including law offices, in the same way it applies to your local convenience store or shopping mall. This webinar will discuss what the ADA and its Connecticut analog require with respect to physical accessibility, websites and even how you or your staff answer the phone. It will also discuss how our ethical duties to our clients under Rule 1.4 of the Code of Professional Conduct may add an ethical obligation to accommodate the needs of clients with a disability.
You Will Learn
• Your basic obligations under the ADA and Conn. Gen. Stat. §46a-63 with respect to the physical accessibility of your law practice, website accessibility and dealing with clients and prospective clients suffering from a disability
• How these statutes relate to the ethical obligations every attorney has to clients and prospective clients under Connecticut’s Rules of Professional Conduct
Who Should Attend
Any attorney with a practice in Connecticut who wants to both obey the law and comply with their ethical obligations.
