The Long-Term Care Ombudsman’s Long-Term Services and Supports Quality of Care Initiatives

About the Program

Mairead Painter, LTCO, will present an overview of key bills that were passed during the 2023 Legislative Session that will preserve and strengthen the rights of individuals receiving Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and residential care homes. Ms. Painter will also share with the section the LTCO Office’s proposals for the upcoming legislative session to better support the efforts of the LTCOP and continue their mission of improving the quality of life for individuals living in LTSS settings. Ms. Painter will also discuss the role and responsibilities of the newly created Community Ombudsman Program.
