Foundations of Civil Trial:

Join us for day one of the Civil Trial Bootcamp where you will dive deep into the intricacies of civil trial proceedings with our intensive workshop tailored for burgeoning trial lawyers. This program is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the trial process from the initial stages of pre-trial preparation to the final closing arguments.

Day two will be held on February 22, 2024, which will be a full day of opening and closing practice with feedback provided by skilled attorneys and current and retired judges. You will need to register separately for day two.

  • About pre-trial preparation – the groundwork necessary for a successful trial
  • About jury selection – the art and strategy of choosing the jury you want
  • About trial motions – the specifics of Motions in Limine, Motions to preclude, and more
  • About trial management conferences – grasp the significance and procedure of this pivotal meeting
  • About the mechanics of trial – a step-by-step walkthrough of the trial process, from opening statements to witness examinations to closing arguments
