About the Program

There will be a 30-minute networking session at 5:00 p.m., with the program beginning at 5:30 p.m. This seminar consists of an open conversation with a five-person panel of practicing attorneys from different practice areas. The purpose of the program is to educate attendees about the basic principles of the HIPAA statute and how one incorporates the statute into their daily practice. It is also an opportunity to learn how HIPAA is applied into different practice areas and the challenges that some face when complying with HIPAA.

You Will Learn

  • About basic incorporation of HIPAA into a variety of legal areas, such as litigation, in-house counsel work in an insurance company and hospital setting
  • About the importance of HIPAA
  • About the new amendments to HIPAA
  • About certain challenges that attorneys face when trying to comply with state and federal regulations

Who Should Attend

Attorneys whose practice incorporates HIPAA compliance, whether that be litigation or in-house counsel. Additionally, local law students should attend to learn the basic principles of important health care law and how HIPAA incorporates into practice.
