About the Program

A legal presentation on State and Federal laws pertaining to Firearms and their place in Probate related matters in Connecticut. The discussion will include fundamental federal law starting with the 1934 National Firearms Act and visit such topics as The Gun Control Act of 1986, The Firearms Owners Protection Act and Safe Passage, The Brady Handgun Prevention Act of 1983 and into present day statutory restrictions on possession, ownership, and transfer as of current 2023 legislative changes.

Presented in unison by Hon. Matthew Jalowiec and Thomas Selmont, the session will explore the most common situations that legal practitioners may find themselves in with Firearms found in decedent estates and conservatorships.
