Program Description

A discussion of the use of powers of appointment in estate planning to enhance flexibility. We will discuss practical issues such as requirements for exercise; as well as tax issues, such as using powers of appointment to allow for income tax basis planning or avoidance of GST tax. We will also discuss the possibility of allowing for powers of appointment in favor of the grantor of the trust.
