Media Bias, Misinformation, and Threats to the Judiciary

Presented by the ABA and the CBA Rule of Law Committee

About the Program

The deterioration of civility and civics education is eroding the rule of law in all segments of our society.  The rule of law remains under attack and those attacks are arguably increasing. The attacks come from all angles—some direct and some more subtle. A lack of faith in our educational system, media, political leaders, and courts all represent attacks on the rule of law. The ABA (Mary Smith, President, American Bar Association and Jeh Johnson, Former Secretary of Homeland Security and Co-Chair of the ABA Task Force for American Democracy) and the CBA Rule of Law Committee combine efforts gathering local media, government, and education leaders to discuss the growing concerns surrounding politics, media reporting, education, elections, and attacks on the judiciary that all undermine the principles of the rule of law. Jeh C. Johnson, former secretary of homeland security will provide a keynote address.

Space is limited, so please register early.
