About the Program

Join us for a delicious breakfast buffet followed by an introduction to Veteran Benefits to all those who wish to advocate for veterans before the Department of Veterans Affairs.  The seminar includes an introduction to the administrative office, the basics of service connection, the appellate structure of VA, and more. This training comports with 38 C.F.R. § 14.629(b)(1)(iii) and (iv) to be eligible for first year CLE requirements to those who are VA accredited.

Registration and breakfast begin at 8:15 a.m. The seminar begins at 9:00 a.m.

You Will Learn

• How to represent a veteran before the Department of Veterans Affairs and wield introductory knowledge of how the VA works and operates

Who Should Attend

Newly accredited attorneys before the Department of Veterans Affairs who need their initial CLE certification, established accredited attorneys who need a refresher on VA, or attorneys who are interested in learning more about representation before VA.

CLE Credit

The Connecticut Bar Association/CT Bar Institute is an accredited provider of New York State CLE. This program qualifies for newly admitted and experienced attorneys CLE credits. 

Attorneys seeking NY CLE credit who have been admitted to the New York State Bar for two years or less must attend the live seminar for skills or ethics credit, a fully interactive videoconference, or simultaneous transmission with synchronous interactivity. Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias CLE credits are only available as non-transitional credits. If the seminar is recorded, all member registrants will receive complimentary access to the recording approximately six weeks after the program.
