2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time)

Webinar - CLE Pass Eligible

Presented by the CT Bar Institute - Part of the Solo/Small Firm Series

About the Program

Technology changes much faster than the law and it’s pretty difficult for any busy lawyer to keep up with it.  “I feel like I’ve fallen behind” is a common refrain.  In many cases, just having a road map and plan for increasing efficiency can make a big difference in stress reduction and focus.  In this class, you’ll receive a large number of recommendations and examples for increasing efficiency and profitability without simply running faster on the proverbial treadmill.  We’ll explain what technologies should be on your radar, how to get the most of what you already have, and how to make smart acquisitions to fill any tech or procedural gaps you may be experiencing.  Finally, we’ll spend a little time on mapping and automating repeatable processes.

You Will Learn

  • Recommendations for maximizing the utility of your existing “technology stack” (without buying more technology)
  • Considerations when buying new technology and how to prioritize your expenditures (legal tech hierarchy of needs)
  • That a case management application is the Swiss Army Knife of legal tech - learn what functionality you should be getting from those applications and measure against what you’re actually getting
  • How to improve your drafting efficiency - produce accurate complex documents faster
  • How to automate repeatable processes
  • What functions a small firm should consider outsourcing
  • That billing is only one small aspect of accounting.  What else should you be getting from your accounting application?
  • Other efficiency gaining and money saving tips
