Program Description

The Business Services Division of the Secretary of the State's office is kicking off the Business Law Section year. This presentation will provide an overview of the Division's services and highlight new initiatives from the past year. Topics will include:

  • New Trade Name Law: A look at the new law, the centralized database, and how trade names differ from trademarks.
  • Business Filing Fraud: An update on the Division's new procedures and investigation process for combating filing fraud, including a review of recent cases.
  • Foreign Business Entities: A discussion on the registration requirements for foreign businesses transacting in Connecticut, featuring informative case studies from the last year.
