Legal Principles in Criminal Justice and Forensics

Program Desciption


David Rollinson will discuss legal principles used in forensics such as the Duber and Frye methods, chain of custody, rules of evidence, admissibility of evidence and the such. Additionally, he will provide an overview of forensics basics, including trace evidence, finger prints, blood, ballistics and pathology.

Speaker Bio:

David Rollison has been teaching Science at Staples High School in Westport, CT for 21 years. He is currently teaching an Advanced Forensics class and is partnered with Southern Connecticut State University. The students taking the Advanced Forensics class can elect to get college credit through Southern Connecticut. Mr. Rollison will be graduating this May from the Henry Lee School of Forensics at University of New Haven with his second Master’s Degree in Forensic Science. During this past summer he interned with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as a death investigator.
