Wednesday, April 1, 2026

9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Eastern Daylight Time)

CBA Law Center

538 Preston Ave., 3rd Fl., Meriden

Presented by the Lawyer Well-Being Committee

About the Program

This interactive workshop is designed to help attorneys manage the ongoing pressures of legal practice, including emotionally intense client interactions, workload and billable hour demands, and challenges maintaining sustainable work-life boundaries.

Grounded in direct feedback from Connecticut attorneys, the training focuses on practical communication and boundary skills attorneys can apply immediately, even within ethical, institutional, and role based constraints. Rather than offering general wellness guidance, this workshop emphasizes concrete tools for responding effectively under pressure while maintaining professionalism and ethical integrity.
Participants will engage in applied learning through discussion and guided role play using realistic, attorney specific scenarios.

You Will Learn

• To identify common sources of professional pressure in legal practice, including client emotional intensity, workload demands, and blurred work-life boundaries
• How to distinguish between ethical responsibility and emotional overextension
• How to apply practical communication strategies to manage difficult client interactions without escalation
• How to set and maintain role-appropriate boundaries under workload and time pressure
• How to respond more effectively to client demands while preserving focus, professionalism, and well-being
• How to practice boundary and communication skills in realistic scenarios and reflect on what supports effective containment under pressure.
