Baseball Law 101

Speaker

Bill O’Sullivan, O’Sullivan McCormack Jensen & Bliss PC

Program Description

Like other sports leagues – and unlike most industries – major league baseball’s “product” is competition.  As such, the owners of the competing businesses have good cause to closely collaborate in gathering and allocating such precious resources as talent, territory and money.  And they have strong incentives to overreach, which has spawned a fascinating legal history at the intersection of contract law, antitrust law and labor law.  This program will provide an overview of that body of law, seasoned with relevant (and hopefully, entertaining) baseball references.

6:30 p.m. Dinner and Presentation
