Recognition

The Child Welfare and Juvenile Law Section Honors
Atty. Lisa B. Kouzoujian
for her many years of outstanding representation of parents and children in Juvenile Court.

Attorney Lisa B. Kouzoujian is a Connecticut family law attorney with more than three decades of legal experience representing individuals and families through some of life's most challenging transitions. Admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1989, she has built a practice focused on family and juvenile law.  In the family law realm, she has experience in dissolution of marriages, child custody and support, post-judgment matters, and other complex family law issues.  In the areas of juvenile law, she has extensive experience in abuse and neglect cases, as well as representing children in delinquency matters.

Based in Stamford, Attorney Kouzoujian is known for her extensive courtroom experience and her commitment to protecting the best interests of children and families. Starting her practice in 1993, Attorney Kouzoujian has extensive training in the areas of child abuse and neglect and has represented parents and children in cases involving the Department of Children and Families (DCF).  In 1999, she was named a Child Welfare Law Specialist by the National Association of Counsel for Children, an accreditation earned from significant experience in child protection matters and educational training and testing. With her knowledge of the effects of trauma and separation on children and parents, she has zealously advocated for her children and parents involved in the child protection system in juvenile courts around the state. She is also a sought-after Guardian Ad Litem in delinquency cases.

She serves as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) and Attorney for the Minor Child (AMC), appointments that reflect specialized training and experience in advocating for children's welfare in family court proceedings and is listed by the Connecticut Judicial Branch as qualified to accept GAL and AMC appointments in multiple judicial districts throughout the state.

Attorney Kouzoujian earned her bachelor's degree from Colgate University before receiving her Juris Doctor from Western New England University School of Law.

Her professional accomplishments have earned consistent recognition from her peers. Attorney Kouzoujian has been selected to the Super Lawyers list in Family Law each year from 2016 through 2025, an honor recognizing outstanding attorneys based on peer recognition and professional achievement.
