Attorney Wendy Van Wie
As the author of a national treatise on local government law, the speaker has extensively researched and written about the tools of historic preservation adopted and adapted by local governments across the country. Additionally, the speaker has been instrumental in expanding preservation tools used by local governments in Connecticut.

Program Description:

Attendees can expect a general overview of historic preservation law as it emerged in the latter half of the
20th century, as well as a more in-depth discussion of three major tools of preservation used by
Connecticut’s municipalities: Local Historic Districts, Historic Preservation Zoning Incentives, and
Connecticut’s Village District Act.
