HOUSE LEADERSHIP

Both House Democrats and House Republicans have renominated their leadership for the upcoming legislative session. House Democrats renominated House Speaker Matt Ritter and Majority Leader Jason Rojas, while House Republicans renominated Minority Leader Vin Candelora. These leaders will be responsible for assigning their members to Committee Leadership appointments, such as Chair, Vice Chair and Ranking Member positions. We anticipate that leaders will start sharing some Committee assignments in the coming weeks, while Committee memberships are likely not to be announced late-December to early January.

Senate Democrats renominated Senate President Martin Looney and Majority Leader Bob Duff, while Senate Republicans renominated Minority Leader Stephen Harding. Similarly to the House, these leaders will be responsible for assigning their members to Committee Leadership appointments. We anticipate that leaders will start sharing some Committee assignments in the coming weeks, with Committee memberships more likely to come out in the new year.
