The CBA Veterans and Military Affairs Section's Executive Committee donated $500 of their section funds to Columbus House to help homeless veterans affected by COVID-19.

"I was inspired by the CBA's donation to Project Feed Connecticut and brought the idea of a veteran focused donation to the Executive Committee. We know Columbus House provides necessary services to homeless veterans," said the section's Chair, Cinthia Johnson. "The section was planning to host our May meeting at the Armory.  Because it's now a Zoom meeting, we redirected the money allocated to that meeting to feed veterans instead."

She added, "During COVID-19, Columbus House has been working extra hard to keep veterans safe and housed and the Executive Committee wanted to support that effort."

Columbus House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been providing solutions to homelessness since 1982. Throughout the years, Columbus House has expanded its mission and programs to include not only emergency shelter but a continuum of housing and services designed to help people who are homeless move toward independence. The agency's primary goal is to provide housing either through our own programs or through referrals throughout Hartford, Middlesex, New Haven, and New London counties to service-enriched or independent housing.
