 Attorney Condio October 2025
Attorney Trudy Condio was honored at the Child Welfare and Juvenile Law Section's October 23 section meeting.

On October 23, 2025, the Child Welfare and Juvenile Law (CWJL) Section was happy that Kristen Oliver and Melissa Milardo from the DCF RRG (Regional Resource Group) presented the process on how a case consultation with a RRG specialist reviews the presenting case-related issues as well as any relevant historical information and needs which leads to recommendations and case next steps to resolve or address those issues and needs. They provided a deeper dive on the purpose of RRG consultation which is in part to provide direction, guidance and/ education regarding the presenting issues of the case.

In addition, the CWJL section was happy to recognize Attorney Trudy Condio.  Attorney Condio earned her undergraduate degree from UMass Boston in 1995 and her law degree from UConn in 1999. Attorney Condio’s focus was on earning a B.A. degree with a certificate in paralegal studies. While at UMass Boston, she had the opportunity to participate in a legal clinic similar to a law school clinic. That exposure and her own “lived experience” changed her career path. In 2001, Attorney Condio began her self-taught/on the job training legal career. She started as assigned counsel taking criminal cases in Enfield and expanded to Rockville, Manchester and Hartford. That same year, she added child protection and delinquency cases in Rockville and Hartford Juvenile Courts. Attorney Condio represented indigent clients; adults, parents and children. She has served as a Guardian ad Litem. In March 2009, Attorney Condio received certification as a Child Welfare Law Specialist. In August of 2022, the Public Defender’s Office hired her as an Assistant Public Defender in the Hartford Juvenile Court. Attorney Condio credits private attorneys, public defenders and the many trainings all of which helped develop her skills. She has litigated multiple trials and successfully defeated multiple termination of parental rights petitions. One of her favorite trials resulted in reunification, which was a wonderful gift as it occurred three days before Christmas. She was involved in a number of important cases such as In re Ryan R, In re Shanaira C. In re Annessa J., and In re Reginald H. Her name appears in over 15 Connecticut Appellate Court and Supreme Court cases. In 2025, Attorney Condio defeated the state’s motion to designate a matter as a serious sexual offender prosecution when such designation was not warranted. Attorney Condio is a current member of the CBA’s Child Welfare and Juvenile Law Section where she has served as an executive committee member in addition to currently serving as the section’s secretary. She credits Narcotics Anonymous for laying the foundation for all her successes. She is an executive board member and concession stand coordinator for the Manchester Knights Youth Football and Cheer Program. Attorney Condio lives in Manchester CT
