The CLABBY awards, established in 2016, are presented by the section each year to honor the professional achievements of section members.
Career Achievement Award
Awarded to a Section member who has been admitted to practice for at least 35 years in Connecticut, who possesses the following attributes:
- The compilation of an exemplary record of achievement in the practice of commercial law and/or bankruptcy law
- The commitment to formal and informal mentoring of younger lawyers
- An established reputation for civility, integrity and professionalism
- A dedication to the betterment of the profession of law

Service to the Profession Award
Awarded to a Section member who has been admitted to practice in Connecticut for at least 10 years, who possesses the following attributes:
- Consistent and meaningful leadership in Bar Association activities in general, and Section activities in particular
- Undertaking significant efforts to develop and implement educational programs, pro bono policies and/or public service initiatives, which elevate the profile of the profession, while also promoting the general public good
- A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various partners and affiliates, both within and without the Bar

Rising Star Award
Awarded to a lawyer who has been admitted to practice for less than 10 years, who possesses the following attributes:
- Consistent and meaningful participation in Section activities and meetings
- Ability to involve members of the Bench and/or Bar in Section programs
- A demonstrated willingness to develop and/or implement new initiatives, which elevate the profile of the Section
