About the Program
Following the death of George Floyd and increasing concerns regarding police misconduct involving people of color, communities of color, and police involved fatalities, the Connecticut General Assembly passed P.A. 19-90 (concerning use of force by police) and P.A. 20-1 (concerning police accountability) which established the Police Transparency and Accountability Task Force (PTATF) which brought together stakeholders to study and make recommendation with respect to improving police transparency and accountability in Connecticut.
In the summer of 2020, under the leadership of then President Ndidi Moses, the CBA formed a Police Accountability Task force to bring together community members, activists, attorneys and academics and members of both state and federal law enforcement to also provide recommendations regarding police accountability. Both task force recommendations were forwarded to the legislature.

The Connecticut Bar Association/CT Bar Institute is an accredited provider of New York State CLE. This program qualifies for non-transitional CLE credits.
