About the Program
Interested in starting or improving your own law practice? This series will cover the basics. You will gain knowledge on revenue-building techniques, such as court-appointments, limited scope representation and basic fee agreement/IOLTA information. You will gain knowledge and insights on what is needed to grow and market a solo practice or small law firm.
You Will Learn
- The basics of opening a law practice including office space, computers and software, office management systems, basic business planning and banking, branding and insurance considerations
- Basic techniques on how to generate revenue and keep that revenue, including assigned Counsel contracts, Probate court assignments, Foreclosure committees, Limited scope, representation and paid consultations, introductory IOLTA/fee agreement information
- Basic strategies for marketing and advertising, including social media, the ethical requirements and limitations for marketing and advertising
- Introductory information in expanding a practice (e.g. hiring)
