About the Program

Despite decades of social, legal, and political efforts aimed at stopping sex discrimination and sexual harassment in the workplace, significant problems persist. Connecticut requires all employers who have at least three employees to provide two hours of sexual harassment prevention training to all employees. While standardized employer training will satisfy the legal requirements, lawyers and those who work in legal workplaces, whether in private practice, public service, or in-house, face some very profession-specific challenges, and unique opportunities, to eliminate, or at least reduce, sexual harassment in our own workplaces and throughout the society. This program will be geared to those unique challenges and opportunities (while also satisfying the legal requirement of Connecticut law).

You Will Learn

• The legal framework surrounding sexual harassment, including legal remedies;
• Practical tools for identifying and eliminating workplace sexual harassment;
• How to deal with sensitive, potentially offensive, client information in the legal workplace;
• Assisting clients in dealing with sexual harassment.
