Oh, those Unwritten Rules

Speakers

Louis Pepe, McElroy Deutsch Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP
Thomas Rechen, McCarter & English LLP
Scott Harrington, Diserio Martin O'Connor & Castiglioni, LLP

Program Description

We are assemblying a wonderful panel to talk about some of those quirky or even dangerous un-written rules a Connecticut Practitioner may encounter in our state courts. As many of you have experienced, much of Connecticut law and procedure is not written down anywhere in a rule book or statute. Unlike our neighboring states, Connecticut relies heavily on case-made law and procedures established by the rule of "well that's how we have always done it", and in contrast to the federal system, individual judge chamber preferences ('practices') are not published. We could never tell you all the hidden rules, but this program will try to highlight some for you.
