Veterans Affairs Benefits & Long-Term Care Planning

Program Description

Ramon Agosto and Attorney Alison Weir will provide an exciting evening of information regarding Veteran’s benefits, including but not limited to application and eligibility requirements for various VA programs and discussion regarding the use of VA benefits in planning for our clients’ long term care needs. Ramon Agosto, will answer commonly asked questions about coverage & eligibility criteria, how VA benefits dovetail with Medicaid, the difference between and the benefits of Aid & Attendance and VA Pension, income tax implications, tips for applying, and new developments. Attorney Alison Weir, will discuss the civil legal issues related to Veteran’s Benefits from an attorney's perspective; the discussion will include, but not be limited to, housing and medical coverage, eligibility requirements to maximize  VA services, qualifying for the various tiers of services,  and available options if there had been an unfavorable discharge.

Ramon Agosto is a Gulf War Army Veteran who is a highly recognized Veterans Service Officer for the 4th Congressional District. His current office is located at the State of CT Department of Veterans Affairs, 100 Mona Terrace, Fairfield, CT (203) 418-2006.
