About the Committee

The Lawyer Well-Being Committee is charged Improving the well-being of lawyers in the state of Connecticut. The committee will examine the crisis of lawyer well-being that has been documented by research conducted by the ABA Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs. The research demonstrates that psychological and emotional disorders, substance use disorders, and opiate or other drug abuse among law students and lawyers far exceed other professions and populations. The committee will use the National Taskforce Report on Lawyer Wellbeing as a blue print for moving lawyer well-being forward. Well-being is described in the report broadly, as will this committee. Representatives on the committee will include members of the bar, regardless of CBA membership, law schools, the bar examining committee and the judicial branch.

    Webinar- CLE Pass Eligible
12:00 PM to 1:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time)

Many lawyers work extremely hard yet feel little fulfillment. This program teaches a practical framework for designing a practice that supports your life instead of consuming it. Using material from the presentation How to Work Less, Make More, and Be Happier, Chris Earley introduces the Triangle model of Make More Money, Work Less, and Be Happier, showing how these elements strengthen each other. The session explains how to focus on high value work using the 80/20 rule, understand the three essential metrics for practicing health, and identify your best referral sources. It also covers how to regain control of clients, improve workflow, eliminate overwhelm, and create a healthier mindset by supporting your strongest team members and letting go of toxic influences.
