Attorneys Thomas A. Gugliotti, Paige M. Vaillancourt, and Robert A. White received CLABBY awards from the Connecticut Bar Association’s Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section on Thursday, May 16.

“We are fortunate to have such sterling role models in our section as Tom Gugliotti, Paige Vaillancourt, and Bob White, who have consistently demonstrated all that is good about our profession,” said section Chair Thomas J. Sansone. “Paige has shown no hesitation in getting involved in the programs and activities of our section, and will undoubtedly be a wonderful contributor for years to come. Tom and Bob are two of the deans of the bankruptcy bar, not only because of their notable legal acumen, but also because they are such great people. They exemplify what it means to ‘do good while doing well,’ never failing to volunteer their time and talent in service of the profession.”

Thomas A. Gugliotti received the 2019 Service to the Profession Award for his section leadership, development of educational programs, and delivery of pro bono services. Attorney Gugliotti is a leader, mentor, advocate, and mediator. He is a partner at Updike Kelly & Spellacy PC in Hartford, and is chair of the firm’s creditors’ rights practice. Past receptions of the Service to the Profession Award are Elizabeth J. Austin, Irve J. Goldman, and Jeffrey M. Sklarz.

Paige M. Vaillancourt received the 2019 Rising Star Award for her consistent and meaningful participation in section activities and meetings, and implementation of section initiatives. Attorney Vaillancourt began attending section meetings before she was admitted to the Connecticut bar and is currently assisting with presenting the section’s seminar at the CBA’s annual legal conference. She is an associate at Rescia Law PC, which has offices in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Previous recipients of the Rising Star Award are Erin E. Boatman, Joanna M. Kornafel, and Patrick R. Linsey.
