Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month Member Spotlight | The Honorable Jessica C. Torres

The Honorable Jessica C. Torres is a Connecticut superior court judge who was nominated to the bench in 2021. Judge Torres is a graduate of Western New England University School of Law. After graduating in 1999, she worked with the Connecticut State’s Attorney’s Office prosecuting juvenile cases. She also prosecuted part B cases, including court side and jury trials. In 2005, Judge Torres became an assistant attorney general for the state of Connecticut. She held this position for 15 years, working in both child protection and the public safety departments.

Judge Torres is a Connecticut Bar Foundation (CBF) life fellow, a member of the CBF’s History Project on Attorneys of Color Committee, and a former president and current board member of the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association.
