Kenneth Bartschi is Of Counsel to the Hartford office of McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, LLP, where his practice includes appellate litigation in civil, family, and constitutional matters. He has argued numerous cases in the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate Courts that have had significant impacts on the law, including Millbrook Owners Association v. Hamilton Standard, 257 Conn. 1 (2001), and Ramin v. Ramin, 281 Conn. 324 (2007). He served as cooperating counsel with GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders in the landmark marriage-equality case, Kerrigan v. Commissioner of Public Health, 289 Conn. 135 (2008).
Attorney Bartschi has been co-author of Thomson Reuters’ Connecticut Rules of Appellate Procedure (Annotated) with Wesley Horton since the 2004 Edition and served as co-author of the annual “Appellate Review” for the Connecticut Bar Journal since the 2000 Review. He is also one of the co-authors of the Thomson Reuters’ Connecticut Practice Series: Connecticut Superior Court Civil Rules.
Attorney Bartschi serves on the executive committees of the Appellate Advocacy and LGBT sections of the Connecticut Bar Association and is a member of the Human Rights and Responsibilities section. He is the McElroy Deutsch representative to the board of Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity. In his non-law life, Attorney Bartschi sings with the Vernon Chorale and enjoys cooking, gardening, his dog and cat, going to New York with his husband to see Broadway shows, and spending time in Ptown.
