Crockett 400x400Cynthia I. Crockett is one of four attorneys who will receive the Honorable Anthony V. DeMayo Pro Bono Award at the CBA’s annual awards celebration, Celebrate with the Stars, on Wednesday, April 3.

Attorney Crockett is a managing partner at Hersh & Crockett in Hartford, the firm she co-founded in 1996. She mainly practices in the areas of personal injury, workers’ compensation, family, and social security law. After earning her J.D. from Western New England University School of Law, she was admitted to practice in the state of Connecticut in 1994, the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut in 1995, and the United States Supreme Court in 2009.

For 26 years, Attorney Crockett has dedicated herself to the provision of pro bono representation. Since 1997, she has accepted pro bono referrals through Statewide Legal Services (SLS) for clients in distressing situations dealing with income issues and personal trauma, helping them navigate complex legal issues and obtain fair and just outcomes. She has volunteered to help dozens of SLS clients, particularly those needing assistance with supplemental security disability income cases and other disability matters. She has also represented pro bono clients dealing with divorce, custody visitation, and other family law issues.

The Honorable Anthony V. DeMayo Pro Bono Award recognizes CBA members who demonstrated dedication to the provision of legal services without expectation of payment to those in need.
