Monte E. Frank will receive the John Eldred Shields Distinguished Professional Service Award at the CBA’s annual awards celebration, Celebrate with the Stars, on Wednesday, April 3.
Attorney Frank is the co-chair of Pullman & Comley’s litigation practice. He represents business and municipal clients in the state and federal courts in Connecticut and before administrative agencies on a wide range of matters. He regularly represents clients in complex and sophisticated litigation and construction matters, including mediation and arbitration in Connecticut and other states.
For many years, Attorney Frank has been an integral figure within the leadership of the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA). In addition to having served as president of the association from 2016-2017, he has held numerous roles in the CBA’s committees and task forces. He has previously served as chair of the CBA Council of Bar Presidents and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Legislative Policy and Review Committees; co-chair of the COVID-19 Task Force and its federal and state judicial subcommittee; and as a member of the CBA Board of Governors, House of Delegates, and the Policing Task Force. He currently serves as the chair of the CBA’s Federal Judiciary Committee. Outside of his participation in the CBA, Attorney Frank holds several other significant roles with various organizations and bar associations, including representing Connecticut in the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates,
Throughout his membership, Attorney Frank has continuously worked to advance the goals of the CBA. Notably, he was a key early proponent of the association’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and has remained active within the committee and as a vocal advocate for addressing DE&I issues within the association and the Connecticut Legal Community. Recently, he served as the moderator for a panel discussion during the CBA’s 2023 Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Summit, which examined ongoing DE&I initiatives and efforts at the state and national levels.
The John Eldred Shields Distinguished Professional Service Award recognizes CBA members who have performed outstanding service through or on behalf of the CBA for the benefit of the legal community and the community at large.
