NewmansOwnNewman’s Own Foundation will receive the Distinguished Public Service Award at the CBA’s annual awards ceremony, Celebrate with the Stars, on Thursday, March 12.

Newman’s Own Foundation is a private grant-making foundation based in Westport with a unique model that uses 100 % of the profits and royalties from the sale of Newman’s Own products to support charitable causes, particularly those that support the lives of children facing adversity. The Foundation’s approach to philanthropy emphasizes long-term partnerships, strategic investment, and a portfolio of diverse nonprofit initiatives aimed at creating deep and lasting impact rather than quick fixes. Its giving strategy includes funding organizations working on nutrition education, school food systems, Indigenous food justice, and other efforts that contribute to healthier, more equitable communities. The Foundation also seeks to increase its impact through collaboration with strategic partners, enabling each dollar granted to go further in service of its mission.

In addition to its grantmaking, Newman’s Own Foundation champions the broader “100% for Purpose” movement which seeks to inspire businesses to dedicate all their profits toward social impact. Through initiatives such as the 100 % for Purpose Club, the Foundation supports and encourages business leaders and organizations to adopt models that prioritize purpose alongside or even above profit, demonstrating a new way of doing business that benefits communities and society at large.
