About the Program

This Bridge the Gap Series provides an introduction to criminal law in Connecticut, an overview of the Corporate Transparency Act, and a session on improving your deposition practice.

    • How to address the common issues that attorneys new to criminal practice will encounter.
  • An overview of the Corporate Transparency Act and similar laws.
    • About reporting requirements and penalties for failure to report.
    • About proposed amendments.
  • About deposition practice.
    • About depositions of experts.
    • About use of depositions in motions, trials, and hearings.
    • How to navigate the logistics of remote depositions.

Who Should Attend

Any attorneys interested in criminal practice, attorneys interested in learning about the Corporate Transparency Act, and attorneys interested in honing their deposition skills.

Cost

(In-person registration costs include electronic materials, light dinner and parking in the public garage at 35 Bank St. Virtual registration costs include electronic materials and is priced the same as in-person registration to compensate for the expense of technology for providing remote participation.)

The Connecticut Bar Association/CT Bar Institute is an accredited provider of New York State CLE. This program qualifies for transitional and non-transitional CLE credits. 

Attorneys seeking NY CLE credit who have been admitted to the New York State Bar for two years or less must attend the live seminar for skills or ethics credit, or a fully interactive videoconference. Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias CLE credits are only available as non-transitional credits. Financial hardship information is available upon request.
