About the Program

This annual event provides YLS members a unique opportunity to meet with state legislators in a relaxed and social atmosphere, allowing both members and legislators the opportunity to informally discuss both legal and legislative issues facing Connecticut today.

Keynote Speaker
Steven J. Stafstrom, State Representative, 129th General Assembly District

Steve Stafstrom proudly serves the 129th Assembly District, which covers the Bridgeport neighborhoods of Black Rock, Brooklawn and parts of the West and North End.  For the 2015 session, Steve has been appointed to positions on the Finance, Revenue and Bonding, Judiciary, and Environment Committees. He is also a member of Speaker Sharkey's M.O.R.E. Commission, where he is working to save Bridgeport taxpayers money through regionalization and collaborations between municipalities across the state.

A Connecticut native, Steve attended public schools in Orange and graduated from Fairfield University and the Saint Louis University School of Law. Upon his graduation from law school, Steve and his wife, Christine, chose to settle in Bridgeport. Steve is a civil litigation attorney at the Bridgeport-based law firm of Pullman & Comley LLC.

Steve is heavily involved in the Bridgeport community and has worked hard to improve the City's business climate and quality of life. He has served on the Bridgeport City Council and the Black Rock Neighborhood Revitalization Zone board. He has also served as president of the City Lights Art Gallery, vice chair of the Alpha Community Services YMCA, trustee of Saint Ann's Parish and on the board of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council's leadership program. In 2014, he was recognized by the Fairfield County Business Journal as one of the top "40 under 40" business leaders.

Steve and Christine live in the Black Rock neighborhood and have a young daughter, Jessica.
