Michael Imber will provide a status update on the state budget process, provide an overview of the deficit magnitude and causes, and offer guidance for Connecticut municipalities as they prepare to deal with the impact of the state’s budget problems, with additional discussion of the potential of a Hartford bankruptcy and the implications for clients and practitioners dealing with insolvent municipalities.

Mr. Imber has over 25 years’ experience in municipal insolvency and counseling clients on bankruptcies, workouts and municipal consulting issues and recently testified with the CT General Assembly regarding the state’s structural budget issues and potential approaches for remediate.

Louise DiCocco, counsel with the Connecticut Business & Industry Association will also join us to provide a brief summary of the recently adopted Connecticut State Budget, the newly defined spending cap provision and it implications.
