Out-of-State Attorney

A licensed legal professional in good standing who neither resides nor practices in the State of Connecticut.

Judges

Connecticut state judge who has been recommended by the Judicial Selection Commission, nominated by the governor, and approved by the state legislature

Non-Attorneys

Associate Member

A non-licensed person who works in a law-related field, is regularly employed in a law office, corporate legal department, or legal agency, and devotes substantially all working time to the performance of paralegal, legal administrative, or legal librarian duties

Government Associate Member

A non-licensed person who works in a law-related field, is regularly employed by Federal, State, Municipal or Legal Services, and devotes substantially all working time to the performance of paralegal, legal administrative, or legal librarian duties

Students

Law Student

A full-time student in good standing enrolled in the School of Law at University of Connecticut, Yale University, or Quinnipiac University, or a bona fide Connecticut resident attending an out-of-state American Bar Association (ABA) accredited Law School

Paralegal Student

A student studying at a Connecticut accredited, paralegal program or a bona fide Connecticut resident studying at an out-of-state accredited ABA-approved paralegal program

About CBA Membership

Membership must be renewed each year. If dues are not paid, you will lose access to your CBA account and benefits. Any member, who is not in default of dues payment, may submit notice of resignation to the CBA.

 

Membership for the 2024-2025 bar year is from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.
You will receive a renewal invoice for the 2025-2026 bar year in April 2025.
Anyone who joins after April 1, 2024 will receive the remainder of the 2023-2024 bar year for free.
