On the evening of October 10, over 40 members of the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section gathered at the TPC River Highlands golf club in Cromwell for the section’s 2024 Pro Bono Fair and Golf Event.

On October 19, the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section hosted its annual Pro Bono Fair and Golf Event at the Hartford Golf Club. Over 50 people attended the event, which consisted of a nine-hole round of golf followed by a reception.

On July 25 and 26, The Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) Pro Bono Committee and Statewide Legal Services of Connecticut held a Free Legal Advice Clinic, where 20 volunteer attorneys met with 41 clients over Zoom meetings.

On January 25 and 26, the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) Pro Bono Committee and Statewide Legal Services of Connecticut held a Free Legal Advice Clinic where 29 volunteer attorneys met with 57 clients over Zoom meetings.

The Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) and UConn School of Law jointly hosted a CT Free Legal Answers Comes to Campus Event, held at the UConn School of Law campus, on November 4. CBA volunteers and law students worked as a team to provide free legal assistance to 13 Connecticut residents with low or no income.

On October 26-27, the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) Pro Bono Committee and Statewide Legal Services of Connecticut held a virtual Free Legal Advice Clinic where 18 volunteer attorneys met with 38 clients over Zoom meetings.

On October 20, the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section hosted its annual Pro Bono Fair and Golf Event at the Hartford Golf Club. Over 60 people attended the event, which consisted of a nine-hole round of golf followed by a reception. Attendees were able to choose whether to participate in the round of golf or only attend for the reception. Booths were set up to provide information on nine different organizations providing pro bono services in Connecticut.

On July 26 and 27, the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) Pro Bono Committee and Statewide Legal Services of Connecticut held a virtual Free Legal Advice Clinic where 22 volunteer attorneys met with 41 clients over zoom meetings.

On Friday, April 1, the Connecticut Bar Association and UConn School of Law jointly held a Free Legal Answers Comes to Campus event. At the event a team of eight volunteer attorneys from the CBA mentored a group of 20 UConn law students through the process of providing free legal advice to individuals with low or no income.

On January 25 and 26, the CBA Pro Bono Committee, in coordination with Statewide Legal Services of CT, hosted a two-day Free Legal Advice Clinic virtually. Clinics are now planned to take place on a quarterly basis, in order to increase the public's access to justice.

The CBA will be hosting a new hotline for individuals affected by Hurricane Ida who require legal assistance. We are currently seeking volunteer attorneys to provide disaster-related legal assistance to those affected by the hurricane. Training will be provided.

On October 26-28, the CBA Pro Bono Committee, in coordination with Statewide Legal Services of CT, hosted a series of Pro Bono Clinics virtually. The clinics took place as part of the National Celebration of Pro Bono, an initiative that shines a spotlight on the amazing pro bono work by lawyers, paralegals, and law students across the country, which occurred from October 24-30.

The CBA Pro Bono Committee, Statewide Legal Services of CT, and Connecticut Veterans Legal Center held a series of Pro Bono Clinics virtually on April 27 through 29, where 35 attorney volunteers met with a total of 50 clients over Zoom meetings.

The Lawyers in Libraries program provides free pro bono legal services to members of the public in a community setting.

The CBA has donated $8,000 to the Connecticut Bar Foundation (CBF) to benefit their legal service grantees who provide pro bono civil legal services to Connecticut’s low-income residents. This is one of the numerous initiatives the CBA has undertaken to assist Connecticut residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.

More than 50 members served over 60 clients at the CBA's pro bono clinics held October 22 and 24 in New Britain and Bridgeport, during the ABA's National Celebration of Pro Bono.

Members of the public can receive free legal advice at clinics in New Britain and Bridgeport.
