The CBA is seeking leaders to represent their colleagues in the House of Delegates for a three-year term. The districts that have at least one expiring seat beginning July 1st are 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 17.

On April 2, the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA), the Connecticut Bar Foundation (CBF), the CBF James W. Cooper Fellows, and Quinnipiac University School of Law co-hosted a video premiere at Quinnipiac’s law school campus that highlighted four trailblazing attorneys of color in CT: Marilyn Diaz; Past CBA President Amy Lin Meyerson; Judge M. Nawaz Wahla; and John Rose, Jr.

On March 24-26, a delegation of bar leaders from the CBA traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend the American Bar Association (ABA)’s 2026 ABA Day event.

The Connecticut Bar Association is pleased to announce the addition of Heather Holt as its Director of Membership Strategies. In this role, Heather is responsible for leading a strategic approach to engagement, retention, and the end-to-end member experience.

From December 2025 through March 2026, the Connecticut Bar Association hosted a statewide high school mock trial competition that brought together students from across the state to demonstrate their advocacy skills, legal knowledge, and professionalism in the courtroom. Organized under the supervision of the Mock Trial Subcommittee of the CBA Civics Education Committee, the competition began in December with regional trials held in courthouses throughout Connecticut.

CBA Members Campbell D. Barrett, Theodore M. Doolittle, Patrick M. Fahey, Leah Pollard, and Patrick T. Ring were among those nominated.

The Connecticut Bar Association welcomed over 300 legal professionals, community members, and their families and friends at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville on March 12 for the thirteenth annual Celebrate with the Stars awards dinner—an evening dedicated to honoring excellence, service, and leadership across the Connecticut legal community.

The CBA Women in the Law Section and the CBA Young Lawyers Section (YLS) Women in the Law Committee presented the 2026 Ladder Award to Attorney Nancy Kennedy at this year’s Pathways to Leadership for Women Lawyers event on March 5 at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville.

Over 150 attendees gathered at the Pond House Café in West Hartford on February 10 for the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) Young Lawyers Section’s (YLS) 2026 Diversity Dinner. The event’s primary presentations included a keynote address from Representative Matt Ritter, who currently serves as the speaker of the Connecticut House of Representatives and a discussion with a four-person panel.

The Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) is proud to announce the launch of a new Legal Resources Lending Library for CBA members. To help build this collection, the CBA is seeking donations of hard copy legal resource materials that members are willing to part with.

On December 21, volunteers from the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) gathered at Barnard Park in Hartford for a Day of Service in partnership with Food4Lives, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving unhoused and underserved individuals. The volunteers distributed homemade meals and over 200 care packages comprised of toiletries and winter clothing donated by CBA members.

On December 10, the annual CBA Presidential Fellows Dinner took place at Grassy Hill Country Club in Orange, where Association leaders and past fellows introduced and discussed the program with the current class of fellows.

On December 2, The Connecticut Bar Association’s (CBA) Young Lawyers Section (YLS) joined together with the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA) to host a new collaborative Day of Giving benefiting Connecticut Foodshare and the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

Over the course of two ceremonies held on November 14, a group of 164 new attorneys were sworn into the Connecticut Bar inside the Museum of Connecticut History in the Connecticut Supreme Court Building. The newly inducted attorneys were also invited to attend a new admittee reception held by the CBA at Gouveia Vineyard in Wallingford on November 20.

The Connecticut Bar Association is pleased to announce the addition of Attorney Song Kim as its Director of Access to Justice and Equity. In this role, Attorney Kim is responsible for developing and coordinating the CBA’s initiatives to improve access to the legal system for indigent and underserved individuals, leading related legislative and public policy advocacy, and advancing the CBA’s efforts in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

The Connecticut Bar Association hosted its 10th Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Summit on October 24 at CT State Community College’s Gateway campus in New Haven. Over 150 attendees, including signatory organizations of the Connecticut legal community’s Diversity and Inclusion Pledge, gathered for the summit to hear from the event’s prestigious speakers, who provided presentations focused on reflection, planning, and strategic conversations about the state of DEI in Connecticut.

Hundreds of attendees gathered on October 16 at Anthony’s Ocean View in New Haven to celebrate 150 years of the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) at its Anniversary Gala. This black-tie celebration marked a historic milestone for the CBA and brought together members from throughout the state to honor the CBA’s rich history and enduring commitment to supporting the legal profession since its founding in 1875.

On the evening of October 14, over 80 members of the Connecticut Bar Association Young Lawyers Section (YLS) gathered at the Hartford Golf Club for the section’s 2025 Pro Bono Fair and Golf Event.

On October 5, over 20 members from the Connecticut Bar Association rallied behind the fight against breast cancer by participating in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer: Making Strides of Connecticut walk in Hartford’s Bushnell Park.

As part of its 150th Anniversary Celebrations, the Connecticut Bar Association hosted Community Service Day on September 20 with volunteers from the association participating at service sites in Bridgeport, Wallingford, and Hartford.
