The CBA is seeking leaders to represent their colleagues in the House of Delegates for a three-year term. The districts that have at least one expiring seat beginning July 1st are 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 17.

Connecticut Bar Association Hosts 2026 High School Mock Trial Competition

From December 2025 through March 2026, the Connecticut Bar Association hosted a statewide high school mock trial competition that brought together students from across the state to demonstrate their advocacy skills, legal knowledge, and professionalism in the courtroom. Organized under the supervision of the Mock Trial Subcommittee of the CBA Civics Education Committee, the competition began in December with regional trials held in courthouses throughout Connecticut.

CBA Young Lawyers Section Hosts 2026 Diversity Dinner

The event’s primary presentations included a keynote address from Representative Matt Ritter, who currently serves as the speaker of the Connecticut House of Representatives and a discussion with a four-person panel.

CBA Hosts Day of Service with Food4Lives

On December 21, volunteers from the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) gathered at Barnard Park in Hartford for a Day of Service in partnership with Food4Lives, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving unhoused and underserved individuals. The volunteers distributed homemade meals and over 200 care packages comprised of toiletries and winter clothing donated by CBA members.

New Attorneys Sworn into the Connecticut Bar on November 14, 2025

Over the course of two ceremonies held on November 14, a group of 164 new attorneys were sworn into the Connecticut Bar inside the Museum of Connecticut History in the Connecticut Supreme Court Building. The newly inducted attorneys were also invited to attend a new admittee reception held by the CBA at Gouveia Vineyard in Wallingford on November 20.

CBA Hosts 10th Annual Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Summit

The Connecticut Bar Association hosted its 10th Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Summit on October 24 at CT State Community College’s Gateway campus in New Haven. Over 150 attendees, including signatory organizations of the Connecticut legal community’s Diversity and Inclusion Pledge, gathered for the summit to hear from the event’s prestigious speakers, who provided presentations focused on reflection, planning, and strategic conversations about the state of DEI in Connecticut.
