Rebecca Corbin Loree and James M. Loree will receive the Distinguished Public Service Award at the CBA’s annual awards celebration, Celebrate with the Stars, on Thursday, April 8 for their meaningful contributions to Connecticut residents.


 rebecca-corbin-150x150   Rebecca Corbin Loree is the founder and CEO of Corbin, a company dedicated to helping businesses and investors grow through research, expertise, and innovation. Through her leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion, Rebecca has grown Corbin from a solo practice to a thriving firm of over 25 people. In 2020, Rebecca created Corbin for Nonprofits and donated 20 percent of the practice’s annual operating profits to nonprofit organizations. She is a recurring guest on CNBC’s Squawk on the Street and received the Hartford Business Journal’s Annual Women in Business Award in 2019.

James M. Loree is president and CEO of Stanley Black and Decker, a Fortune 500 company headquartered here in Connecticut. Under his CEO leadership, the company has received recognition in numerous notable lists, including Barron’s 100 Most Sustainable Companies, Fortune’s Most Admired Companies, and Forbes’ America’s Best Employers for Diversity. 

   

Both Rebecca and James are active members of the community. In 2017, James was appointed to Governor Malloy’s Commission on Fiscal Stability and Economic Growth and has since been appointed to Governor Lamont’s AdvanceCT Board and the Board of the Governor’s Workforce Council. Rebecca serves on the boards of Washington College and The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts. She is a former director of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and CT Women’s Hall of Fame.  

 

As a couple, Rebecca and James founded the Loree Foundation in 2010 to provide opportunities for the community’s youth to further pursue valuable educational opportunities. Through the Foundation, they provide grants for educational assistance, training, and support of individuals in need, as well as funding for nonprofit organizations throughout Connecticut. Annually, they provide two full scholarships to young Hartford women to attend the Grace Academy and support The Bushnell’s PARTNERS® Programs, which strengthens inner-city youth education in literacy, the arts, and intercultural relations.
