Grayson Colt HolmesGrayson “Colt” Holmes is a partner at the firm Bartlett & Grippe in Cheshire. His practice focuses primarily on DUI, criminal defense, personal injury cases, and civil defense litigation. Prior to joining Bartlett & Grippe, he was a prosecutor at the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney in Rocky Hill. In that role, he prosecuted criminal and DUI cases in various courthouses across the state and defended the commissioner of corrections in habeas actions. Before his work as a prosecutor, Attorney Holmes’ primary practice was in DUI and criminal defense. He has tried several cases and has successfully defended hundreds of criminal defendants.

Attorney Holmes previously served as the chair of the CBA LGBT section from 2019-2020 and continues to serve on the section’s executive committee. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science and English from the University of Georgia and his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law. He is the author of the 2010 Connecticut Law Review article “The New Employment Verification Act: The Functionality & Constitutionality of Biometrics in the Hiring Process.” He also served as a clerk to Hon. Michael R. Sheldon.

Attorney Holmes currently lives in Bristol, CT with his husband Christopher and their two pet Vizslas, Tucker and Kacey.
