Iannantuoni_Rebecca_400x400Rebecca A. Iannantuoni is one of four attorneys who will receive the Honorable Anthony V. DeMayo Pro Bono Award at the CBA’s annual awards celebration, Celebrate with the Stars, on Wednesday, April 3.

Attorney Iannantuoni is a partner at Day Pitney LLP in New Haven, where she represents fiduciaries, handles estate administration, and advises high net worth individuals and families regarding all aspects of estate planning, with a particular focus on elder law and planning for persons with special needs. She also has extensive experience assisting clients with Title XIX Medicaid planning.

After earning her J.D from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 1999, Attorney Iannantuoni managed a solo practice for several years. Prior to becoming a partner at Day Pitney LLP, she also served as a practice manager for the Day Pitney New Haven Individual Client’s Department and as chief clerk of the Waterbury Regional Children’s Probate Court, where she co-founded the Waterbury Truancy Clinic which was designed to determine and address the systemic causes of elementary students’ absences. Throughout her career, attorney Iannantuoni has frequently served as a lecturer on topics including special needs trusts, Medicaid planning, elder law issues, and the efficacy of truancy prevention in elementary school populations.

For the last decade, Attorney Iannantuoni has used her expertise to work pro bono for the palliative and geriatric medical-legal partnerships at the Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy at Yale Law School. Through this partnership, which is a joint effort between the Solomon Center and the palliative care and geriatric medicine programs at Yale New Haven Hospital, she provides pro bono legal services to patients with life-limiting illnesses and health-harming legal issues. In addition to providing vital assistance for these clients, she has also supervised dozens of Yale Law Students in their work.

The Honorable Anthony V. DeMayo Pro Bono Award recognizes CBA members who demonstrated dedication to the provision of legal services without expectation of payment to those in need.
