2017-2018 CBA Officers

The installation of the CBA's incoming officers will occur at the CBA Annual Luncheon. These officers will lead the CBA for the next bar year, beginning July 1, 2017.


Karen DeMeola

Karen DeMeola will be installed as the 94th president of the CBA. She is the Assistant Dean of Students for the University of Connecticut School of Law. In addition, Dean DeMeola implements and manages diversity programming as well as professional and community development activities for students. Prior to her role as assistant dean of students, she was a civil rights litigator in her solo practice.


Jonathan M. Shapiro

Jonathan M. Shapiro will be installed as president-elect. Attorney Shapiro is a partner at Shapiro Law Offices LLC in Middletown where he practices in corporate transactions, employment matters, and complex commercial and general litigation, as well as in arbitrations and mediations.

 Vice President

Ndidi N. Moses

Ndidi Moses will be installed as vice president. Attorney Moses is an Assistant United States Attorney. She is also the Civil Rights Coordinator for the Civil Division at the United States Attorney’s office in New Haven where she coordinates and prosecutes the division’s civil rights cases.


Alaine C. Doolan

Alaine Doolan will be installed as secretary. Attorney Doolan practices at Robinson+Cole in their Hartford location. She practices primarily in the areas of intellectual property, brand management, corporate transactions, technology, and Internet-related law.


Vincent P. Pace

Vincent P. Pace will continue serving as treasurer. Attorney Pace is the Associate General Counsel at Eversource Energy. His practice focuses on electricity and natural gas transactions, regulatory compliance, and administrative law.

 Assistant Secretary-Treasurer

Dana M. Hrelic

Dana M. Hrelic will be installed as assistant secretary-treasurer. Attorney Hrelic is a partner at Horton Shields & Knox PC in Hartford, where she represents clients in civil, family, juvenile (including termination of parental rights), and criminal appeals.

 Immediate Past President

Monte E. Frank

Monte E. Frank is a principal in Cohen and Wolf PC’s litigation, municipal, and Employment and labor groups, and works from the firms Danbury and Bridgeport offices. He represents business and municipal clients in the state and federal courts in Connecticut on a wide range of matters.
