About the Committee

The Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee leads the CBA's efforts to continually strive towards a more fair and equitable legal profession and legal community. The Committee develops programs and policies that make all members of the legal profession and community feel welcome and included. The Committee strives for a sustainable, diverse, and inclusive environment within the CBA, throughout its membership, and the Connecticut legal community at large.

Over 150 attendees, including signatory organizations of the Connecticut legal community’s Diversity and Inclusion Pledge, gathered for the summit to hear from the event’s prestigious speakers, who provided presentations focused on reflection, planning, and strategic conversations about the state of DEI in Connecticut.

During the meeting, past CBA President Judge Cecil Thomas announced that he will be stepping down as a DEI committee co-chair, after spending 11 years leading and driving the CBA’s DEI efforts.
