The first issue legal users of Microsoft Word will encounter is that its default settings aren’t suitable for the purposes of a law office. The first half of this seminar will teach you how to customize Word’s interface, formatting, and automations to ensure they’re assisting you, rather than complicating your tasks.

Presenters will take attendees through the new data protection assessments required in the US, starting in 2023, for certain types of data processing activities that involve data of residents in CA, CO, CT, and VA. Clients and law firms who process individuals’ personal data for certain purposes are subject to Connecticut’s Data Privacy Act and will be required to perform “data protection assessments” of certain processing activities and keep documentation of those assessments.

Stare Decisis & the New Roberts Court (EDU230216)
    Webinar (CLE Pass Eligible)
12:00 PM to 2:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time)

The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overrule Roe v. Wade has many questioning whether the new Roberts Court approaches stare decisis in a fundamentally different way than its predecessors. In the last five years alone, the Court has overruled major precedents and upended long-standing law running the gamut from Second Amendment rights to religious exercise. At the same time, the Court has declined opportunities to overrule other influential but deeply criticized (and polarizing) precedent. Join us for a panel discussion where leading scholars explore this tension, discuss where they see the Court heading, and offer their perspectives on what role precedent plays in that journey.
